Welcome to my 2010 Professional Educator Portfolio!
My name is Elena Halterman. I am licensed to teach grades K-6 in North Carolina. My husband Josh is also a teacher, so I am lucky to have someone with whom I can collaborate and discuss education on a daily basis. We celebrate each other's accomplishments and offer support and criticism when things get tough. Teaching is not supposed to be an easy job! The business of working closely with others can be unpredictable and it requires daily problem solving and finesse. I am successful because I thrive on being challenged. Teaching is a lifelong dedication and a 24 hour committment to children. When I am not in my classroom teaching, I am developing curriculum, reading the latest research, and enjoying daily opportunities to learn and to guide others onto a path of lifelong learning.
